Our mission is to bring this beloved experience to the Mega Drive, leveraging its graphics and processing capabilities to deliver an arcade-style adventure.

The development of Batman Returns MD is a collaborative effort involving several talented individuals:

► Code: TiagoSC – The main code for the game is handled by TiagoSC, who has brought the game to life with his meticulous coding skills.

► Art: Pyron – Pyron is responsible for the stunning digital artwork that complements the game’s atmosphere perfectly.

► Music: Inglebard (Opening), Vector Orbitrex (Stage 1) – The game features an orchestral soundtrack by Inglebard for the opening sequence and Vector Orbitrex for Stage 1, ensuring that the music aligns perfectly with the game’s tone.

We created this tech demo to test out various concepts and fulfill a dream I had as a teenager: to receive a port of Batman Returns for my favorite console. Our intention is not to finish the game entirely, but the good results we got here will be used in future projects. The demo was not made to ridicule the SNES version, but rather to show that the Mega Drive can handle a beat-em-up with technical and graphical quality very well. Even though it lacks in some aspects, it excels in others, making it a great platform for this type of game. We also wanted to explore the power of the machine in ASM, showcasing what can be achieved with Assembly programming.
