Gameplay Overview

MISERY is particularly appealing to fans of games like Lethal Company and Stalker, as it combines elements of a rogue-lite survival game with intense cooperative gameplay. Players assume the roles of Private Military Contractors (PMCs) tasked with safeguarding a secretive research institute within the Republic of Zaslavie. The Scientific Institute for Research of the Zaslavie Exclusion Zone (SIRZEZ) was originally established to study anomalies and mysterious artifacts, but these artifacts eventually became a source of conflict between rival military blocs, culminating in a catastrophic nuclear war.

Nuclear Survival Scenario

The game’s narrative is set in motion when a siren blares, signaling an impending nuclear attack with only 60 seconds to prepare. Players must scramble to gather as many supplies as possible and rush to the safety of their bunker before the bomb hits. Once the initial chaos subsides, the survival phase begins. Each new day brings opportunities to explore procedurally generated locations, including abandoned military bases, research stations, toxic wastelands, and ruined urban areas within the Exclusion Zone, all while facing the ever-present dangers of this post-apocalyptic world.
